There are a lot of vocabulary terms to learn in science. Each lesson has key science terms defined. Being able to define these terms in your own words (i.e. paraphrase) will help you with your understanding of each scientific concept. One way to become familiar with new science terms is to learn the split-page vocabulary technique. Here is how to make a split-page vocabulary list [a short video clip of this might be helpful]:
Fold a piece of paper so the crease is about 4 centimetres from the left side.
Put the list of terms on the left side and the corresponding definitions on the right side.
Study the vocabulary by folding back the column of terms along the crease so only the terms are visible, or switch the paper to view only the column of definitions.
