Module 2: Movement
Introduction
Movement is controlled by the brain through signals sent down the spinal cord through nerves to muscles. Information is sent back to the brain about where the muscles and joints are in space. This allows for adjustments of muscle tone, posture, balance, and co-ordination of movement. How we move directly impacts our ability to learn.
What You Will Learn:
- How movement typically develops
- How movement disabilities can impact body structures and function
- The implications at school for students with movement disabilities
