Body Pattern Distribution
Cerebral palsy can present in different patterns in the body. If one side of the body is involved, it is referred to as hemiplegia. If the lower part of the body is involved more than the upper part, you may hear the term diplegia. If all areas of the body are involved, it can be referred to as quadriplegic CP which isn’t the same as quadriplegia in individuals who have paralysis from a spinal cord injury.
