There are a lot of vocabulary terms to learn in science. Key science terms are defined in each lesson. Being able to define these terms in your own words (i.e., paraphrase) will help you understand each concept. Using the split-page vocabulary technique is one way to become familiar with new science terms. To make a split-page vocabulary list:
Fold a piece of paper so the crease is about 4 centimetres from the left side.
Put the list of terms on the left side and the corresponding definitions on the right side.
Study the vocabulary by folding back the column of terms along the crease so only the terms are visible, or switch the paper to view only the column of definitions.
