First, we facilitate planning sessions with you and your team to produce an Instructional Design Plan to outline your learning solution. We also create a Project Charter for business details like schedules and budget.
Depending on the complexity of the project, the cost for this phase is typically $12,000 to $20,000.
Most projects start with written words. Some use existing resources as a starting point, others begin with nothing at all. How much work is needed to make the words suitable for instruction, target audience, and chosen delivery medium are important factors to consider. With so many variables, we can’t provide a typical cost for written content.
Once we have content, we transform it into your learning solution. We design with sketches, storyboards and words, develop using a variety of applications, and deploy by piloting and testing. Throughout, we work with you, evaluating and revising each individual part and the project as a whole.
The number and complexity of each part of a project affects the cost. Not including content, here’s our best estimate for developing one hour of eLearning:
Project | Estimated Cost | Details | Examples |
---|---|---|---|
Basic complexity | $12,000 to $24,000 | Text-based with stock images and simple quizzes | |
Medium complexity | $25,000 to $45,000 | Text-based with about a quarter of the content presented in an interactive manner (multimedia, quizzes, audio), custom images and basic video | |
High complexity | $42,000 to $70,000 | Multimedia rich with custom interface, images, video, and interactivity |
