Lesson 8: Writing Your Rome Report

Now that you have collected the information you need to write your Rome report, it is time to organize your notes into sentences and paragraphs. You should have enough information to write at least one paragraph on each section. Remember to write in your own words. (45 marks)

Write a Draft of Your Report

Write a draft of your report, then edit it, correcting any spelling mistakes or other errors you spot. Have someone read your draft and offer suggestions for improvement.

After your draft is completed, think about the illustrations you would like to include in the final copy. Where do you want to put these illustrations? What caption does each of them need to explain it? The more carefully you plan these things, the better your report will be. Note: These illustrations can be hand drawn and attached to your report after you print it or they can be images you downloaded from the Internet.

Write the Final Copy of Your Report

The final copy of your research report is to be written using an acceptable word processing program, such as AppleWorks or Microsoft Word.

If you would prefer to do your report as a multimedia presentation (complete with text, images, and perhaps sound), first ask your teacher if this is ok. If it is, check the Technology Tips section. There you will find links to tutorials that will help you create a multimedia presentation.
