Getting Started with FOODSAFE Level 1 Online Course
Welcome to the registration guide for the FoodSafe Level 1 Online course! This guide will walk you through the steps to successfully enroll and begin your journey toward understanding safe food handling practices.
Steps to Register for Foodsafe Level 1 Online:
- Visit the Registration Website:
Navigate to our official registration page for the FoodSafe Level 1 Online course. You can access it https://openschool.bc.ca/online/
- Receive Your Login Credentials:
Upon completing your purchase, you will receive an email containing your username and password for accessing the Account Manager. Please remember to check your junk or spam folder if you do not find the email in your inbox.
- Access your Account Manager:
To access your account manager, open your web browser, enter the website's URL: https://eservicebc.ca/foodsafe/STUDENT/, log in with your username and password
Upon logging in for the first time, you might receive a prompt asking if you are registering yourself.
- Update your profile information:
Please ensure your profile page reflects accurate demographic information and your current mailing address.
- Registering Someone else:
Click on the "Manager" page, where you'll enter the name and email of the student taking the course. They will receive their own credentials to access the course.
- Starting Your Course:
Once you're ready to begin your course on the course page, simply press the "Start my Course" button. This action will initiate your 20-day course access period.
- Accessing the Course:
Log in to your account on the course platform using the same credentials used to access the Account Manager.
- Writing your Exam:
To take your exam, log in to the course website at https://mytraining.openschool.bc.ca/. You will have one hour to complete the exam once started.

Getting your Certificate:
After successfully completing the exam, a temporary certificate is provided, while official certificates typically take 4-6 weeks to be delivered. Official certificates are mailed out by your Local Health Authority.

How do I start the course?
Ensure that you have chosen a start date on the seat assignment page in the Level 2 Account Manager at https://eservicebc.ca/foodsafe/STUDENTLV2/. The course page will also provide you with information about your start and end date. If you do not see any information on the course page, it may be that you haven't chosen a start date yet.
Where do I find the course content, assignments, and exam?
Access the course content, assignments, and exam at https://mytraining.openschool.bc.ca - log in using the same username and password you've been using for the Level 2 Account Manager.

Log in to the MarketSafe Account Manager at https://eservicebc.ca/foodsafe/MARKETSAFE/.
How do I start the course?
Complete the required fields on the My Information page in the MarketSafe Account Manager at https://eservicebc.ca/foodsafe/MARKETSAFE/. Your course will start as soon as you have completed the required fields on the My Information page. The course page will provide you with information about your start date, end date, and a link to access the course content.
Where do I find the course content and exam?
Access the course content and exam at https://mytraining.openschool.bc.ca - log in using the same username and password you've been using for the MarketSafe Account Manager.
Self-registration courses. You can order the following courses from https://order.openschool.bc.ca. Upon purchase, you will receive an email containing a link that allows you to self-enroll in the online course.
